Dallas & Fort Worth's CBS 11/TXA 21 switching to HD local news
We love high-def local news and it's always great to hear when another local station announces their intention to flip the switch. There simply isn't a better way to see the highs and lows of a particular city than through the lens of a HD cam. Dallas and Fort Worth's CBS 11/TXA 21 are planning to make their inaugural broadcast on September 24. No word on the cost involved, nor on the amount of local HD programming but honestly, who cares as long as they bring more local HD news to Texas.

ABC is already in HD in Dallas. So now all we need is NBC and FOX to go in HD and we might be the first city with all major network news in HD.
I think it is kind of odd that Dallas is just switching, when the Twin Cities switched some time ago.
I guess I don't know the specifics on media markets, but I thought Dallas was bigger than the Twin Cities.
I guess the good news, is another market is pushing HD.
Why is this news here? PHX has 3 stations with local news in HD, 2 left to go...plus all Suns games (home/away) will be in HD - the only NBA team to do so for next season. I posted that a while back - never showed up here...now this ??
Also - Cleveland, OH already has all their local news stations in HD. I think they may have been the first city to do so.
It is about time! ABC has been in HD for more than 6 months.
Now I'm curious to see if it will be Fox, NBC or The CW who makes the move for HD news next.
i cannot believe that my homestate of connecticut the wealthiest state in the nation does not have on single local news in hd
The 1 HD local news provider in my market, CH9 NBC Denver, is the absolute best image I can get on my screen. The lighting and focus are perfect when they’re in the studio.
It's almost spooky looking at the talking heads behind the glass in my living room. I can’t watch TV in my skivvies anymore.
