Samsung's BD-P1400 Blu-ray player appears on Circuit City's website
Circuit City is pimp'n Samsung's latest Blu-ray player, the BD-P1400, on their website. Just as a reminder, this player features 1080p/24 support, HDMI 1.3, and Ethernet all for a low, low MSRP of $499. CC doesn't have a release date posted just yet but according to earlier reports, the player should hit shelves sometime in October of this year. The BD-P1400 may perk the interest of some but honestly, we can't wait to get our hands on Sammy's dual-format player, BD-UP5000, which should drop about the same time.

Why would anyone drop money on a BD player that doesn't support profile 1.1?
Do you think they put the ethernet port on there for fun?
Idiot.
I think some people don't care about profile 1.1. They just want to watch the movies. Some people really don't care about the extras.
The universl player is the bdup-5000
I guess I am not going to be the first to point out that the 2400 is simply the 1400 with HQV and 7.1 outs. The dual-player is the 5000.
Last I checked, an ethernet port can't download an extra video decoder, which is required for 1.1. From what I've read here before, this player does NOT have an extra video decoder. Therefore, it can never support 1.1. Please find a spec sheet that says it does have two video decoders and I'll maybe believe it can do 1.1.
You should learn to check your facts before you start calling other people names.
now i can return my brick of a ps3!
If you spend $500 would you not want the machine to play everything that the BD format can offer ? Makes HD-DVD look even better.
