wroung if it can play movies with out glitching (which hd dvd has far more problems with then wit blu-ray) then its "fully funcitional" know theres a good chance that it includes all the hadware for profile 1.1 somthign the smammy 1200 has had from day one so it will probly be updated(and probly have glichtes haha)
Julian, your inconherent, rambling, inaccurate posts do more harm than good when it comes to advocating Blu-ray. Just letting you know.
As long as it's not another $500 + player then I for one welcome this Aquos branded BD player to the market. If it is a $500 + player then Sharp would be just as well to allow this player to remain 100% vaporware.
BD has lots of really expensive players and desperately needs to fill the void in the low end cheaply priced entry level of the HD market...
I've been using one of these for a couple weeks (bought in Canada for $529 CDN) and it is the fastest loading Blu-Ray player I've seen, plus handles regular DVDs beautifully so far. I've played a collection of old and new dvds and the 300 blu-ray.
