Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
The only way to minimize the impact of this is to say"Yet another expensive BD player."
Nice spin.
This is a full featured HD recorder that can store a great amount of full HD content and write full 50gb BD disks from the content. It is also a very high quality BD player while it's at it.
I'm fairly sure that if this played HD-DVD vd BD you wouldn't be saying just an overpriced HD player.
Content fans look stupid when them minimize a really cool product just because it isn't on their side.
While it's not "just" a player, it's still pretty hard to deny that it's a lot of money. While there should be some UI advantages to a set-top box, I'd rather just add a BR drive to my HTPC, whose combined cost is far less than that.
