I have not seen a Kuro but I did do a side-by-side comparison of the Pioneer Elite to Samsung 5281 with HD over component. There was no contest. The Samsung had the best picture by an order of magnitude and the black was as black as black could be. I think the 81 Series Samsung is the best picture on the market today.

Then you did not see a Kuro. Buy the Samdung and keep telling yourself you have the best TV out there.
