Just in time for the start of the NBA season,
NBA TV HD launches on both
DirecTV and
DISH Network. Every major sports league needs their own channel and now NBA steps up to HD, bringing over 70 national HD games to their subscribers. In addition, they'll have 24 hours of programming, but who knows how much of that will actually be HD. At this point we've lost count of how many HD channels these two providers carry and wonder how many big time
NBA fans are going to give up on their cable provider -- assuming they haven't already.
whoo hoo. Convicts in HD!
OK that comment is completely wrong on so many levels.
Bring on more HD, just not on a sports tier!
I'm about to give up cable for NFL (and Sci-Fi, FX, USA)
@ Big Sam
What have you been waiting for?! I've been with DirecTv since 1999 and will never go back to cable for 2 simple reasons: a)outstanding customer service, and b) NFL Sunday Ticket, baby!!!
The NHL network launched on DirecTV is HD and SD (ch. 215) yesterday.
Satellite may have more options, but the resolution is markedly inferior to cable HD. I moved recently and had to switch from DirectTV to Comcast, and the picture difference is night and day. Also, DirectTV didn't carry my local channels in HD, I had to get them OTA, and I was always fiddling with the antenna to pull in all the channels.
is that a picture of NBA LIVE 08 or a real game?? Nba live 08 looks so real I cant even tell which is which anymore, especially since this picture is so blurry.
Something I just found out. I have NBA League pass on DirecTV. Not only did they give NBA channels (601) HD but 750-763 also gets HD...example 751-1, 752-1, 753-1. I accidentally found it so it might be others that didn't know as well.
