LG's 52-inch 52LG71 LCD TV boasts WiFi for HD streaming

The percentage of electronics at the end of their lives which were recycled.
The EPA found that the percentage remained consistent from 1999-2005. Even as recycling rates went up, the amount of electronics reaching end of life outpaced the increase, leaving the figure static. (source: EPA, July 2008)

I think it is kinda of awesome that TV manufactures are starting to do this, adding stream capabilities into their electronics. I only say kind of since there is no standard yet, the media streams out now are all over the board as far as a standard.
I would just hate to see crippled devices and I am not always keen on cramming a ton of electronics into one as I feel quality can suffer and if one goes, it can be problematic.
But only 52 inch? Yuck Hurry up with the +65inch models.
A WiFi TV? For what? I thought the point of wireless in TVs was to try to eliminate all signal wires to the TV, and this won't do that, particularly with the limited bandwidth.
802.11n has more then enough bandwidth to stream HD (1080p). I stream just fine through my wired xbox 360 connection and I only use around 70Mbps. wireless n is suppose to go faster then that.
That's not the problem though. Unless the TV is allowed to decode video from HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, it won't eliminate the need of some other hookup to play that. The output of those players is full bandwidth. And there's the game systems too.
Actually, I'm sorta hoping it makes Apple TV obsolete and Apple has the forethought to speak to LG and attempt to incorporate Front stage into it. With the Advent of PS3, WiFi, etc, there really is no need for apple TV except for the interface, and if they can find a way to mimic that interface via a PS3 or even this TV with licensing/cooperation from apple that would be the perfect solution.
And yes, I know all the anti-apple zeolots will pop up, but can anyone seriously suggest a cleaner interface?
Though one thing I did notice is only the 47inch is LED backlit and they mention none of that for the 52inch. I honestly doubt the picture we're seeing is even the 52inch.
