For one, you get instant replay. Two, you have commentary and stats. And in some cases, you get perspective from the various camera angles, vs your single perspective from your seat.

That's being said, I wish they didn't have that stupid rule (for cable) where a game is not televised if the game is not sold out. Or that if a regional game is playing, you may not get a competing game an alternate channel.

I just want to watch football.

Anyways, live football is just too expensive. I can spend the $350 for an entire your of EVERY game in HD, beer, my couch, a close restroom or I can spend $350+ on garbage seats, $8 bottle of beer, a long line in the restroom.
