What is the 'new lower price'? I admit that I have seen online a new regularly low price, but besides the one-off day special that Wally World and Best Buy offered the discontinued A2 at, I am no longer seeing any current model HD DVD player going for below $150. I did find the A3 selling online for $160, though.
Conveniently enough, the same place I found the A3 selling for $160 was also selling a Blu-ray player for $340. Thus, one can get entry into both formats via standalone solutions for $500. And if one has a robust HTPC and the luck to find the LG combo drive, the combined solution could be had for $300.
