"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
I agree with a poster above, it looked like most of it was modernizing the power. It's for the best though, because a surge strip wouldn't do much good unless there is a ground.
From the sound of how he attached the outlet I'm not sure it is actually grounded. He didn't mention that he added a jumper, and he also only mentioned attaching two wires. I have the same issue at my house but here is the easy fix I found: http://www.codecheck.com/250_50_commentary.html
I also loved the comment about needing an "HD antenna." I have a ten year old antenna I am using and it works just fine. Antennas just receive the signal they don't translate it. That's what the tuner is for.
