I had an Adelphia Moxi for several years. It was a piece of crap. It runs on Windows (Paul Allen was a founder of Digeo, so no big surprise). The menus were sluggish, got hung up all the time. My TiVO HD is way, way, way faster. I would no more go back to Moxi than I would go back to the dentist who used pliers and no painkiller.
Eric, the box you had ran LINUX, not WINDOWS. If for some reason you did have a box for SEVERAL YEARS that ran WINDOWS, I would either say you are mistaken or you paid for a counterfeit box. Which MSO is you current provider? I'm sure the people at Digeo (makers of Moxi) would love to see your year old Moxi box that runs "Windows"...
Eric, Moxi does not run on Windows. It runs on Linux. The software version you had did run slowly, but it has been updated and is now quite peppy. (Numerous user posts on AVS Forums will attest to the speed and functional improvements in the current software). Just as dentists have improved their methods since the pliers and no painkiller era, so has Moxi software. (I'm a former Moxi employee)
The X-Fi3 keeps with the company's commitment to audio fidelity, thanks to the apt-X codec, which supposedly offers audio quality similar to a wired connection when streaming. On that front, the device also handles FLAC files.
