HDNet Fights, the
fledgling MMA company under Mark
Cuban's HDNet (duh) has announced a couple of partnerships that should get its programming off to a great start for 2008. First, HDNet Fights will be broadcasting the International Fight League's World Grand Prix Finals on December 29, bringing the IFL its first HD broadcast. A few days later, the company will be kicking off a four-event contract with M-1 fighter, top-ranked Fedor Emelianenko (pictured). This event will take place on New Year's Eve and will mark the beginning of a planned 24 fight cards for HDNet Fights in 2008. No doubt, UFC is the big player in MMA, but with its open-door policy to working with other fight leagues, HDNet is coming out swinging!
Yes, this is great - except for those of us who get Comcast cable. Does anyone have any idea of/when Comcast will start carrying HDNet?
Fedor is afraid to take on the prime fighters of the UFC. He would much rather flounder around with lesser talent, does he even fight in PRIDE anymore ?
COME TO THE CAGE FEDOR !!!!!!!!
Ray, your a dumbass. #1 Pride doesn't exist anymore, it was purchased by zuffa, ages ago. #2 There are plenty of high-level heavyweights who aren't in the UFC hunt and barnett, just to name two. #3 Fedor was in negotiations with the UFC and turned them down because they wanted to control his life (well basically) and not let him fight in combat sambo events in russia. Your not gonna see fedor in the ufc anytime soon.
Hey Kb why insult ? It does not make you look very good and lessens your credibility, you even had some good information. MMA fans should at least be somewhat respectful to each other because of all the flack we get from the main stream "human dog fighting "crowd. You seem like a good person to talk MMA with but already calling me a dumb ass ?!?!
Anyway yes I know ZUFFA bought PRIDE, but thought they were still holding events in Japan. Say what you want but the best talent is in the UFC and Fedor will never been seen as a great champion in the sport until he takes at least some of them on.
Sorry bro, but your opinion is hard to respect. Mainly because you're totally wrong. When it comes to heavyweights the UFC has sylvia, and kongo (not counting nog and crocop both of whom fedor has already beaten). Couture is out of the picture, mainly because he (like fedor) has issues with the way zuffa does business, most indicators are that arlovski is also trying to get out of the UFC. So who is it you think he needs to fight? Really I'd much rather see him helping to build up another org like M-1, than becoming yet another shill for zuffa. Also like I said before, there are plenty of non-UFC heavyweights out there that can offer fedor a good fight, monson, hunt, barnett, bigfoot silva, HMC, hell even arona is out there (not a true heavyweight, but see their fight in rings and you'll know what I mean). All in all your fedor bashing is groundless, he made the best decision for himself.
