It should be 599 max because it plays the video well for both. Not sure if you're referring to BD in general or the player in the story.. BD in general has gotten pretty cheap recently.. last I checked you can get a basic Blu-Ray player for about $269 plus a bunch of free movies.. The player in the story is a Blu-Ray AND HD-DVD player.. so it plays both. I still think HD-DVD is the best bang for your buck.
