Film scans go up to 8k 4x the resolution of 4k. It's rarely used because computers really can't handle dealing with that amount of data.

A 2k 90 minute feature is about 3 tb uncompressed,4k 12 tb and 8k would be 48 tb.

This is a professional projector. It's designed for 30+ foot screens.

Most home content is at 1920x1080 and 2k digital cinema is at 2048 x 1556

So there is some more information at the 2k digital cinema than you get at home.

4k is much higher resolution (4096x9??? huge) It's a pretty significant jump with 4x the resolution of a 1080p source. When the screen size is 30'+ it makes a significant difference.

Making movies at that resolution requires much more care than a normal 2k or film movie. All the mistakes are visible
