It's designed for 30+ foot screens.<br><br>Most home content is at 1920x1080 and 2k digital cinema is at 2048 x 1556<br><br>So there is some more information at the 2k digital cinema than you get at home. <br><br>4k is much higher resolution (4096x9??? huge) It's a pretty significant jump with 4x the resolution of a 1080p source. When the screen size is 30'+ it makes a significant difference.<br><br>Making movies at that resolution requires much more care than a normal 2k or film movie.
