Film scans go up to 8k 4x the resolution of 4k. It's rarely used because computers really can't handle dealing with that amount of data.
A 2k 90 minute feature is about 3 tb uncompressed,4k 12 tb and 8k would be 48 tb.
The film has that much detail if shot well and is low enough speed.
