If you have a Profile 1.1 player, you get the ability to watch someone talking over your movie in a little window, otherwise, you get to watch the movie. Perfect. If anyone else says 1.0 players are obsolete, then they are intellectually dishonest and really are ignorant. I think I read somewhere that somewhere between 25-40% of HD DVD folks even care.<br><br>The point here is that HD DVD folks said blu ray sucked because it lacks this stuff.  Blu ray folks responded that they really don't care all that much for it.  Now that it is there, the blu team says, "Hey go stick your interactivity argument where the sun doesn't shine!" and you say, "I thought you didn't care." Another thing 90% of the people out there aren't going to give two shits about.  What percentage of your average consumer do you think has an internet connection available in their primary entertainment center?  How many do you think have any interest in plugging in their movie player to the internet?<br><br>For myself, I use the PS3 and it has an internet port AND WiFi built in.  So I'm ready to go whenever Sony is ready to throw the 2.0 switch.  Not sure I'll ever do anything with it though.  I'm not interested in sending my favorite clips from Shrek, voting in polls, or whatever stuff HD DVD has been doing with it.<br><br>Again, this is stuff that the HD DVD fanboys love to make a bigger deal out of than it really is.  Most people simply wont care.  They aren't going to plug in any internet connections to their movie play, fiddle with DHCP settings, watch developer commentaries or anything like that. I always just buy the base copy of a movie, none of this special edition crap for me. If they cant access all the features on a 1.1 disc is the consumer getting the whole experience? Regardless of whether YOU want the extras or not these people are going to have to buy brand new hardware to get the full functionality of their disc. The HD DVD standalone load times are comparable to br standalone load times. I don't own any Blu-Ray players or discs; I probably never will. But the speil coming from the red camp over this is ridiculous. How do you spin Blu-Ray leveling the "bonus feature" playing field into a win for HD-DVD? It's not a win. We've just lost one of our key points. <br><br>So instead of saying "Well, hey, that's good for Blu-Ray guys that were suckered into buying an overpriced incomplete player." you resort to crap like "OMG I THOT U GUYS HATED XTRAS OMGWTF UR ALL HIPROCRITES!!!!"<br><br>I'd bet you none of these Blu guys even watch the extras. I own exclusively HD-DVDs and I certainly have never watched any bonus feature. I don't know anybody that does. The only reason they included it in the new spec is to get HD-DVD fanboys to shut up about having a technologically superior player.
