HD DVD can't argue the sales figures, since Blu-ray is dominating them by such a wide margin (millions), so they make up stories to argue about.

Also, just read the review for the Toshiba HD DVD player ... LOL! I never knew there were these crazy boot times for the players! Are you serious? HA!

It's not that blu folks hated the extras, it's just that it's not something the majority of movie watchers give a rat's patootie about. I think I read somewhere that somewhere between 25-40% of HD DVD folks even care.

The point here is that HD DVD folks said blu ray sucked because it lacks this stuff. Blu ray folks responded that they really don't care all that much for it. Now that it is there, the blu team says, "Hey go stick your interactivity argument where the sun doesn't shine!" and you say, "I thought you didn't care." It's still true that we don't care, but you just lost that piece of your argument.

Do you know how many DVD's I have that contain extra stuff that I haven't watched?....all of them...

For myself, I use the PS3 and it has an internet port AND WiFi built in. So I'm ready to go whenever Sony is ready to throw the 2.0 switch. Not sure I'll ever do anything with it though. I'm not interested in sending my favorite clips from Shrek, voting in polls, or whatever stuff HD DVD has been doing with it.

Again, this is stuff that the HD DVD fanboys love to make a bigger deal out of than it really is. Most people simply wont care. They aren't going to plug in any internet connections to their movie play, fiddle with DHCP settings, watch developer commentaries or anything like that. I quite like theidea of getting 'more' considering I'm already paying a fair premium for the high def format as it is.

I found the extras on '300' to be well worth a look for instance.

But then I tend not to just go for the instantly forgettable, laughably childish, shallow & hilariously superficial 'PS3 demographic' movie-idiocy.

No wonder so many of them claim not to like anything beyond the main feature, it's just the really boring stuff, right?

And yes, ALL profile 1.0 players are obsolete. If they cant access all the features on a 1.1 disc is the consumer getting the whole experience? Regardless of whether YOU want the extras or not these people are going to have to buy brand new hardware to get the full functionality of their disc. That is obsolence to me.

So instead of saying "Well, hey, that's good for Blu-Ray guys that were suckered into buying an overpriced incomplete player." you resort to crap like "OMG I THOT U GUYS HATED XTRAS OMGWTF UR ALL HIPROCRITES!!!!"

I'd bet you none of these Blu guys even watch the extras. I own exclusively HD-DVDs and I certainly have never watched any bonus feature. I don't know anybody that does. The only reason they included it in the new spec is to get HD-DVD fanboys to shut up about having a technologically superior player. Now, please, shut up.
