BBG, I thought amazon figures didn't matter?
The question is now, did it outsell it at 5:1, 2:1 or the rumored 1.2:1? 2:1 would make sense considering that's the typical split. Anything less and one could argue HD DVD is making a comeback.
If someone could find that answer I'd appreciate it. We may know better tomorrow when the graphs are released.
1.2 to 1 is a comeback? Sorry but that is a loss plain and simple.
Since there are a at least 5 times as many blu-ray players as HD-DVD players you need to wait a few months before those numbers actually mean anything.
If every HD-DVD owner bought the set day 1...and only 1/5th of the blu-ray owners bought it day one...does that say HD is winning? What if another 1/5th buy it the next week? HD can't sell anymore as they have saturated their market...but blu and keep selling.
So week one means little...you have to wait till sales settle a bit, a month or two at least.
