It's really a bit hard to believe that this is anything more than a stunt, but apparently, Warner really has established a hotline to replace botched discs found in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. After waiting for ages to finally see the release, it appears that the title plays back in 1080i (rather than 1080p, as advertised) when the In Movie Experience (IME) is not activated. Interestingly, it seems that 1080p output is achieved when IME is active, which leads us to believe that two encodes of the movie are indeed on the disc. If you've been so unlucky, you can phone up Warner's customer support center at 1-800-553-6937 to request a replacement, and be sure to ask what's going on in the QA department while you're at it.
How does it work, do i have to send in my copy and wait without my movie or do they send one out to replace it and i return mine upon reciept of a good copy?
Warner, this is pathetic. Why are you messing up the Blu releases so much? Not that I care, I find it comical as long as it's blu cases messed up.
Since Blu is unable to do PIP, it goes without saying that there are two encodes on the disc. Blu is just getting what it deserves with these botched releases.

The interesting thing is that Warner found a way to do PiP without using Profile 1.1
I think this might've played a role in the lack of 1080p format.
Let's be fair - the PS3 and the new Panasonic player can now do PiP.
However, it is known that this particular release featured two copies of the same film, one with PiP, one without, as a workaround for the hundreds of thousands of Blu-ray players that can't support true PiP functionality.
so... if theres 2 encodes of the movie, then its FAKE ime? like they've done before.. where the picture in picture isn't an overlay, but rather a whole new movie+overlay in one. Way to waste 50gb.
Ive just called and they say that WB is not sure how they are proceeding with this yet because its just a minor technical issue with the disc. They have taken my details and will contact me once a solution is available. poo!

The most unbelievable part? The fact that anyone actually bought this movie! It was so painful to watch.
This is old news about the 2 copy's of the movie on the same disc. Because NO Blu-Ray 1.0 profile player can do Picture in Picture. So to get around that problem and not piss off a bunch of Blu-Ray owners, they put a Regular copy on the Disc and a Copy with a Simulated Picture in Picture. So it's kind of like the HD DVD version that's been out for a year, but it's NOT. It would also explain why there isn't a PCM Audio track on the disc as there's not enough room with 2 copies of the movie on the disc! All that uncompressed Audio would just take up to much space. Except they did a little booboo, and screwed up one of the copy's. Ouch, Blu-Ray is going to cost them even more money to fix this screwup.
That is what they did! Well what are they going to do? Release a true 1.1 profile disc that few systems could play? Sure the PS3 just got updated, but not all of them! Only a Percentage of PS3's are even connected ONLINE. What that percentage is, I don't know. If people look on the back of the disc and see it can do this and that, and pop it into their profile 1.0 players and all they can do is watch the movie, they are now on the phone complaining how features that are supposedly on the disc aren't working.
This is the problem with the whole Profile thing. Your going to make your disc's work with the most systems out there and have the least amount of problems! As in the lowest common Denominator which is Profile 1.0 This is how things on Blu-Ray are going to be for quite some time to come. The whole profile 1.0, 1.1, and 2.0 is completely confusing for the average consumer out there. They want to just buy the movie, pop it in and expect it all to just work.
On HD DVD it does. On Blu-Ray because it was rushed to the marketplace before being finished, you now have this garbage.
Actually, I'd argue that the vast majority just want to pop it in and watch the movie.
When I pop Transformers into my 360 HD DVD player, a big message box pops up telling me this player does not support certain features.
HD DVD is in the same boat as Bluray, so STFU

Didn't Paramount say the additional work & production costs associated with BR was frustrating and BR was a "pig" to work with.
considering that they suck at working with blu ray disc it makes more sence to stay with hd dvd. they need to do just one video of them
