Return your HDTV? Or buy more stuff to go with it?
If you're one of the brave ones who went out today to return unwanted Christmas presents -- yeah pastel socks, we mean you -- perhaps you saw one of the estimated 10% who will return an HDTV set this season, as Information Week interviewed the analysts who are predicting poor consumer satisfaction for those who just bought a set and are expecting some magic increase in quality on their old collection of VHS tapes. Of course, you could also be one of the many who realize a good flat panel display deserves a PS3, Xbox 360, or HD DVD player to go with it to throw on some quality images, and dived in to buy some new gear, and a movie or three. So let us know in the comments, do you plan to return some swag this holiday? Or are you planning on getting some more? And if so, can we come over and check out your setup?Read - Up to 20% could return sets, or...

I went to Target and Best Buy today, and I must say "it sucks to be them." These people were swamped. Target's electronic section, and their return section, was as crowded as the floor at NYSE. The same thing at Best Buy. Hopefully they'd get some deserved rest when they home.
I worked retail in my late teens.....I'd rather collect unemployment than ever work retail, it totally sucks. I'm a pretty easy going guy and an extrovert that likes to deal with people, but I hate hate hate dealing with shoppers. You have your nice ones, but the idiots ruin it for everyone.
I would guess that Dec 26 is probably the worst day in the year to go to a store. Forget Black Friday, that's probably fourth worst or lower.
Oh brother, you mentioned purchasing an HD-DVD player but failed to mention purchasing a Blu-Ray player? Wait till the BD FanBots hear this one, they'll be up in arms!
PS3......
I noticed that too but frankly, the PS3 is synonymous with Blu-ray so they are covered.
That's sure true and the worse the reputation of the company, the lower the bad consumers sink. I'd at least try to work at the better ones but no matter what there are some real nut jobs, after all they shop too.
Sure, I went out to get credit for some unwatched DVDs, but I went out at 10:00 a.m., so I only had to wait a few minutes. Likewise, I did all of my Christmas shopping before noon.
