As the other posters have pointed out, the vip622 has only ONE HD out. The other output is an SD out and is useless if you have another HDTV and you want to watch HD on it. So really, as far as HD goes, there is no difference between the vip622 and the new vip612. Matter of fact, if you are an HD only house, the new vip612 makes more sense.
