"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
What extra liability is there? I guess if you broke your TV open and let the lasers point into your eyes, you might have a problem if they were much more powerful than a laser pointer (I think standard laser pointers are limited to 5mW, which can't hurt your eyes before your blink reflex kicks in -- so, as long as you're not trying to stare at the beam, you should be fine).
Then again, I'd be willing to bet that if you busted open a regular rear-projection TV and put your eyes close enough to the light bulb, you could cause some damage that way too...
