Which is surprising, since our town is surrounded by people with FiOS, and we are a pretty desirable demographic. I sooooo want to dump Cablevision...

John S

Comments on FiOS TV celebrates one year, comes to more homes in New Jersey

Really, why do you want to dump Cablevision. I'm not really a fan of Cablevision, mostly because of the lack of the NFL network. However, my 30 Mbps down makes me smile. A couple of my neighbors have FIOS, but Verizon doesn't end up being any cheaper for me when I price out the same services.

If Verizon wants to bring in educated customers, at least in my market, they need to seriously drop prices. I'm not switching to that telco anytime soon.

I'll probably switch to DirecTV for television next football season, but only because I really want NFL Sunday Ticket. However, I'll keep Cablevision for my Internet service, becaue they have been rock solid for me. Internet access is definitely more important for me then TV. In addition, if I wasn't a football fan, I would definitely keep Cablevison for everyting.

-Aman

Aman Patel

Comments on FiOS TV celebrates one year, comes to more homes in New Jersey

No Verizon in Brooklyn yet..

Ashraf

Comments on FiOS TV celebrates one year, comes to more homes in New Jersey

No FiOS in Los Angeles yet. Cant wait to dump Comcast!!! At least you guys on the east coast have more then 6MBps for $60 a month! Its a rip off here in Cali, well, everything in Cali is a rip off :) Go east Coast!

Sean

Comments on FiOS TV celebrates one year, comes to more homes in New Jersey

I live in Jersey, had it for nearly a year, and sadly, they still don't have HD movies in On Demand.

gpcreative

Comments on FiOS TV celebrates one year, comes to more homes in New Jersey

I have to agree with GP, the lack of HD On Demand is the only thing I miss about Comcast. However, the value of FiOS vs. Comcast is overall in Verizon's favor. I pay the same price to VZ for a triple play bundle with two DVRs, more channels and faster Internet than what I paid Comcast.

Anyway, its older folks who still think in terms of Ma Bell who view FiOS with skepticism. Honestly, I find the cable company to be far worse than VZ.

Matt W.
