"I finally got a new laptop with a lone USB 3.0 port. I'm now looking at getting a USB 3.0 hub with a power adapter so I can use both of my USB 3.0 hard drives at faster speeds. I've read lots of horror stories where some hubs either don't come with power adapters -- and as a consequence the portable drives don't work with them properly -- or they are designed poorly which results in USB 2.0 speeds. Or, the hard drives keep getting disconnected. Do your readers have any suggestions or experience using USB 3.0 hubs? Thanks!"
I have had Dish network for the last 2 years. Now I want HD for the new TV. I decided to go with Direct TV because they offer more HD channels then Dish at least for now. First install never happened with Direct, Skylink didn't even know what has going on if the installer would show up. I finally called Direct and they were VERY helpful and apologized for the poor service by the install company. I rescheduled the install for today. The install company didn't show up after waiting around all day. When I called Direct they advised that they were running late and would arrive within 2 hours. Of course 2 hours later still no installer. He finally showed up at 7:15pm in the dark. Then they wanted to charge me to put a pole in the ground to hold the dish. I was so mad I told him to leave. Of course they blamed Direct and Direct advised they don't have control of their schedules, which was confirmed by the install company that Direct doesn't have control over their schedule. Direct said that they can't control if the install company wants to charge for "custom" items. I will admit that the customer service with Direct TV was excellent compared to Dish. When I called to upgrade to HD with them, they advised me that since I wasn't a "new" customer I had to pay to upgrade to HD. Now I don't know what to do.
We go camping and take a receiver and a dish to have TV. Dish is tough to get in with 2 satellite system and I was told Direct was easier. Is that still true???? I was told that Direct uses 1 satellite. I guess if I decided to go back with Direct install another day this information would be helpful, and is my research of Direct having more HD channels correct?
Thanks
