Is the lack of next-gen audio codec support fixable via firmware? Did they give a date for the firmware update? Or maybe we should just to wait for the UP5500?
the firmware is coming february to both decode and bitstream next gen audio... this might be a good player... people that have it don't complain... plus it looks sexy as hell and you can get all the movies now with one player and you can use amazon sale events to your advantage... bogo HD one week bogo blu another becomes a trend on that site...

multichannel TrueHD and DTS-HD MA is coming, supposedly, in May via firmware. They think a disc compatibility firmware is coming in 2-4 weeks.
and contrary to what eric said, NOT everyone who has this player loves it. check avsforums to read about all the returns and cancelled orders.
