However, it has now decided to push that deadline back a few weeks to be able to release more of its upcoming titles on both formats.

Despite Warner's Blu-ray exclusivity announcement, over a dozen Warner titles are still slated for release on HD DVD over the next four months. Sony is the forced company here and willing to do anything (and they already have a tradition of criminal behavior) as if they lose this war, it's the end of the company by itself as they are already losing the PS3 war, they would lose the Blu-Ray war and the company would go down. They came to this conclusion despite the fact that Toshiba was rumored to be offering on the order of $500 million to go HD-DVD exclusive. In light of that, the idea that they could possibly make more revenue from continuing sales of HD-DVD media vs pushing Blu-ray to mass adoption is laughable.

But don't mind me (or critical thinking), feel free to continue to live in that fantasy of yours.

Sam Winter

Comments on Universal exec says studio and HD DVD are moving forward

Show your support.
