CyberLink's PowerDVD Ultra Blu-ray Profile 1.1 update now available
Being Bonus View (or Profile 1.1 like we used to call it back in the old days) enabled has gone from theoretical to actual for users of Cyberlink's PowerDVD Ultra. Also enhancing BD-J compatibility with certain movies, the 71.8mb download brings users to build 3730 and should provide the seamless PiP quality observed at CES -- if your PC can handle it of course. No charge for supporting more of Blu-ray's features, so get to downloading.[Thanks, François]

I am officially owning 3 BD players now with PROFILE 1.1 now. 2 PS3 and 1 Laptop.
How wonderful for you, how much did you pay for them a $1000?
Hey you know, you could've had the same picture and quality with 3 players for $300 and you wouldn't even need these updates cause you know HD DVD part is all finished and fully working.
LOL LOL LOL HD DVD???? Same quality???? you are joking. I am always looking for PCM audio, and am a big supporter of Disney and Columbia pictures. How could I get that in HD DVD?
Besides, all of BD players are 1080p, while HD DVD got some 1080i.
FYI, I am a former neutral buyer, but definitely I only support BD...
And I got my PS3 in Asia, which is cheaper than in Europe.
Now, where is the proof if TL51 is finished and will be compatible? I know part 1 of spec is finished, but I am still waiting for the news for part 2..... And I've seen that a fan of HD DVD emailed toshiba if it will work. the answer is yes, but my experience with customer service is that they are not always telling the truth or sometimes wrong...
I'd rather spend more than $1000 than spending $300 for a dying format with support of only 2 major studios
Nfinity, so which of these firesale $100 players is also a games console / multimedia center or a laptop computer?
What none of them? So what is your point exactly?
As for "fully working", perhaps you'll explain what that means exactly. For example, where is mandatory managed copy in these players? And assuming MMC ever appears in an HD DVD player are you seriously going to claim these older players will implement it?
Wow thats great that HDDVD is so cheap and "fully working". Sounds like a good buy. Can you tell me where I can get Ratatoulie, Cars, Spider-man, and Die Hard on HDDVD? Thanks.
When you find them, you should probably also pick up an appreciation for good movies.
Not to mention other things like not having 1080p output until over a year after launch. And if you bought a player before that? Well too bad. And I don't think every player supports DTS-MA either. So much for being "fully finished".
Wait, was there an update for HD DVD's latest profiles?
Not necessary? All that and more, you say?
Good... Good.
Blu-ray Profiles are not necessary either. And since blu-ray sales have been doing so well without frivolous features like PiP and online that should tell you how important those features are to hi-def consumers.
And in fact 90% of blu-ray owners will be getting a FREE update on their PS3.
"When you find them, you should probably also pick up an appreciation for good movies."
Yeah I guess only Paramount and Universal make good movies. Lol. Enjoy your 2 studios on your cheap player.

Is the profile 1.1 update available only to the purchased copies of Cyberlink's PowerDVD Ultra? I purchased an LG Blu-ray/HD-DVD combo drive and this software came with it. I can play nearly all Blu-Ray discs I've tried, but 3:10 to Yuma won't play, and I read it was because of the profile incompatibility. Also, Sunshine plays, but freezes at random spots through the film, just restarting the app solves this - but still annoying to stop and restart the app and movie.
There are no updates listed in PowerDVD when I run the upgrade/update utility. Do I have to get a purchase-version to get this update?
