I guess these are Ultra-hardcore fans? I do not think this has much to do with hardcore fanship as it does with spending money to fly across the country to watch a game when one can spend the same and get an HDTV instead. The life on most LCDs is 60,000 hours, thats 20.5 years at 8 hours a day, every day for those years. And LCD or Plasma will last 60000 hours, thats 20.5 years at 8 hours a day, every day. The screen is fine, but the boards inside are garbage. Most do go out because of the problem with the screen. You'll know the sets are OK when extended warranties are $100 instead of $500.
