Even through content recorded off cable has commercials and is edited for time I don't think most people will mind.
However for VOD prices are to high for most things worth watching.$5-7 is more than it costs to rent a physical disk. It's fairly close to the purchase price of a dvd.
For myself I can't really justify spending $1200+ a year on digital cable. I'd rather get a series from netflix and purchase it if it's good.
