Believe it or not, there actually are a few upstanding citizens around the globe who couldn't care less about tomorrow's so-called "big game." Granted, if you live in America, you're likely in the minority there, but we digress. For those of you adamant about not watching Super Bowl XLII tomorrow (and anxious to never hear it spoke of again), why not tell us how you'll be getting your HD fix on Sunday evening?
I hate football and don't watch TV shows when they air (no cable). I will probably be watching a Blu-ray or HD DVD with my new 5.1 set up. Or I'll be catching up on 24 Season 5.
I don't like football. So I'll either be watching something on my DVR or playing my Xbox 360. I'll record the episode of House that airs after the game though.
I'll probably have the Weather Channel on in the background while I'm sitting at my computer doing work. Otherwise, most likely catching up on weeks of recorded episodes of House and/or playing video games with my wife.
If my grandfather (who recently passed away) were still alive, I would be over at his nursing home watching it with him. However, since he's gone, I'm driving donations out to a charity tomorrow and just basically relaxing. Then I might watch the BD version of Cars or Ratatouille with my wife tomorrow evening.
Football really doesn't excite me. If the Lions ever make it (a big "if,' but anything is possible), though, then I'll watch it.
well engadget... looks like not a lot of people care about the superbowl. were you guys having polls like this for the nba finals? maybe ppl care more about that.
I'm not watching it out of spite. Why watch big men running into each other? Hell, this is the same programming that got Janis Jackson an FCC lawsuit for showing us her assets, get some therapy America!
Hey, engadget cares about non-US readers, they have all sorts of shit about that. And btw, it is a US based site... kinda like how british sites dont talk about American stuff much either..
I'm sure American Football is fascinating to US readers, but outside of the US its as dull as dishwater. I'm sure the same could be said of non-US games such as cricket or rugby but at least they're international in scope so there is some international interest. I'm more interested in the adverts between the super bowl game than I am the game itself.
To bring the issue slightly back on-topic I'm keenly interested to see what the Toshiba HD DVD advert is. Will be some half assed attempt to bring people back on side through a firesale / promotion, or will they use it as a surrogate CES, where they attempt to get themselves back on track with meaningful announcements after their disastrous January.
I'm boycotting almost all sports, including football, mainly due to the fact that so many athletes use dope. You don't know if some team/person/player won because of their true skill and determination or because of HGH, Steroids, or other artificial means. About the only reliable sports that dope doesn't affect are racing and ping pong.
ABC is airing Meet the Fockers. That is the best movie ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i just thought... this would be the perfect night to go to a good restaurant (not a sports bar) and get seated immediately. And then go see a movie and have your pick of seats!
I hate football, just to show you how much I hate this draconian "show" I have a nicely built HTPC, as well as HD cable, a JVC D-ILA RS-1 (that's a 1080p reference series front projector) and a 110" Stewart Firehawk screen.
During the "show" we will have ours set to watch a tear jerker John Sayles DVD, or maybe Wim Wenders "Wings of Desire".
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"

I won't be watching anything.
I'm watching football but not of the American kind. I will check back occasionally to check the score however.
I record it and then fast forward through to the commercials. I can't say the game means much of anything to me...
I'm not sure what I'll be watching, but it's probably in my pile of to-be-watched DVDs.
Some people here in the UK might be watching *real* Football I guess... I’ll be watching Lost 4x01 again!
No cable, and no OTA reception of Fox. No superbowl for me. Probably will just watch a DVD.
BTW, I do have a 1080p 46" LCD, but cable is not worth the money...
I'll be watching soccer.
Doesn't engadget care about non-Americans
@ Bill Vinson: Good idea!
@ Engadget: Fix the damn comment system! It was working fine before.

Who's not watching Super Bowl XLII?
Not me! I'm totally catching that repeat of Biggest Loser

This doesn't make sense. "not watching...not me" would mean that you are watching the game.
Engadget's polls leave a lot to be desired.

I'll be watching BDs on my PS3, or HD podcasts on my Apple TV. Only two more weeks until spring training!

...some people will actually be at work. :-/
I would watch it... but it airs at 2am here.. haha, and I know not the rules of your crazy game of football which differs so much to our's!
Only person I hate more then Eli Manning is Tom Brady. Can't stand to watch either win the Super Bowl so I'll toss back some beers and play Xbox.

"I don't have a television/cable and there isn't any large events near me that will draw me out."
Forget the Superbowl. I will be at Disneyworld riding the rides with no lines. HAHAHAHA!

Not sure what I'm watching yet. Likely a DVD or HD DVD unless I come across something interesting on another channel.
Maybe I'll watch some DVRed episodes of Family Guy and pretend the Superbowl isn't pre-empting it. :)
Puppy Bowl!
Law and Order marathon, or Fairly Oddparents/Spongebob. Whatever it takes.
Bacchus Parade!
