You could almost see this one coming -- a Super Bowl with one team attempting to do what no other team in league history has done? Yeah, that'll draw folks in. A game decided in the final minutes of the fourth quarter helps too, and according to research doled out by Nielsen, Sunday's tilt between the
Giants and Patriots was indeed the most watched Super Bowl ever. Reportedly, some 97.5 million viewers tuned in on average, with 105.7 million fixing their eyes on the game between 9:30PM and 10:00PM EST. More interesting, however, was TiVo's research
data, which showed that more folks (in its sample, at least) were interested in watching / rewinding commercials than actually pausing to gaze into Brady's eyes. Oh, and for those curious, E-Trade's "Baby" spot snatched the number one rank this year in term's of ad popularity (sorry,
Toshiba). Hit up the read links below for oodles more data about the game.

Why isn't this on the main page? You didn't mention anything about how many saw it in High Def.
I saw it in HD and was disappointed by the picture quality via Comcast. The commercials looked better.
I though that this year's SB commercials were AMAZING. Maybe I am just sick and twisted but I couldn't stop laughing at them. My favorites were the Squirrel/Bridgestone from the 1st quarter, the Justin Timberlake/Pepsi Stuff from the 2nd quarter, the Shaq/Vitamin Water, Caveman/Bud Light, Richard Simmons/Bridgestone, Parade/Coca Cola from the 3rd quarter, and the Dog/Gatorade from the 4th quarter. Head over to http://www.myspace.com/superbowlads to watch them again.
I forgot to mention that I watched it in HD. In fact, besides a couple of 30min./1hr. TV shows, it was the first event that I watched in HD. I have DishNetwork, their HD 722 DVR, a Samsung LN-T4661F, with a MonoPrice HDMI 6ft. cable and I thought that the commercials in HD were awesome.
Check out the dude in the bottom right of the picture...looks like he took one in the family jewels...
What exactly has no other team done?
Because Don Schula's '72 dolphins went 17-0 for the perfect season.
This game was the best in years though. It wasn't pure nerves screwing up the play like in years past.
The commercials sucked again this year! This was the last of the great ones, way back in 2000!:

I dunno, I really got a kick out of Audi R8 "Godfather" commercial.
HD all the way......
This superbowl taught me one thing: it's easy to find a seat at a good sushi restaurant during the superbowl.
