Verizon becomes exclusive VOD provider for upcoming MTV series
Here's an interesting one. Apparently, Verizon has inked a deal with MTV to become its sole video-on-demand distributor of the upcoming series Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew. Granted, the VOD content won't be in high-definition or anything, but it will be available exclusively to FiOS TV subscribers just 24 hours after it debuts on February 7 at 10:00PM. More interesting here, however, is the premise of locking down specific carriers for doling out video-on-demand content -- personally, we aren't exactly enthralled by the idea (non-FiOS TV customers feel a bit left out?), but it's an interesting concept to draw in customers, for sure.

Of all the 5 main reasons to want FiOS, this isn't even in my top 100. I'd be more tempted to want FiOS if they hadn't locked down the rights to any Randy Jackson production.
F*ck MTV. Put the MUSIC back into MUSIC Television and I'll be glad to show interest. Until then, MTV means nothing more than Mediocre TV. "I want my MTV" now needs to be "I want my MTV -- to go back to what it was during the 1980s!"
Exactly !!!
I haven't watched MTV since they started with "The Real World" crap back in the early 90's. VH1 was the last hope for a few years later, but it has gone down below the gutter with "Flavor of Love" and other ghetto shows to appeal to the lowest common denominator. The shows on MTV and VH1 these days make The Springer Show look like high class. That's a shame.
Is anyone else reminded of Rock Band by the fonts in that image?
Thank god Verizon is bringing us this, one more reason to get rid of FIOS.
