I was fully aware that the company could not carry the burden of sustaining HD DVD alone forever, and that joining Toshiba in it's game of handing out free hardware wasn't a tempting prospect for most HW-manufacturers. They'll end up spending alot of money to get a soon-to-be rare combo player or end up with two players sitting side by side in their living room.
The even bigger issue is what happens to their large HD-DVD library when their out-of-production player dies?? Repurchase all of them on Blu-ray? Seriously, what other option do they have? 2-3 years from now they'll want to play those movies, and there won't be a replacement HD-DVD player in site. They'll have been dismantled for their parts! lol

Sam Winter
