Time Warner Cable brings four new HD options to Austin / Waco, Texas
Over the past few weeks, Time Warner Cable has gifted subscribers in the San Antonio area with a whole slew of new HD options, and unsurprisingly, we heard quite a bit of grumbling from Austin-area folks who felt slighted. Apparently, TWC has heard your cries, as it is now looking to add Discovery HD, TLC HD, Animal Planet HD and Science HD real soon. As for Austin, you can look for these newcomers on slots 1618, 1615, 1622 and 1624, respectively, while Waco-area residents need to scroll on up to 1042, 1044, 1045 and 1046. Of course, these aren't set to go live until Tuesday, but at least you're getting some semblance of respect, right? [Disclosure: Engadget is part of the Time Warner family][Thanks, Jon K. and Jay]

What's TWCs deal in NYC for HD, the #1 media market is getting shafted.
I get so so so excited when I see Time Warner cable... only to continue reading that its not for Los Angeles.
You should start your posts with the city name!!!!!
I wanna know when the Big Brother to the North (Dallas) is going to get more than the puny handful of HD channels we get from TWC. If anyone from TWC reads this and knows.... answer please?
It seems the infrastructure in the big cities TWC serves is lagging behind the smaller markets.
I would love to have this for my teenager.
LOL Did i gripe to much?
Dang Corpus Christi again gets nothing new. Damn you TWC.
Yay! Now just need SciFi HD and I'm happy! :)
No love for Los Angeles. Looks like we get to continue to enjoy the scarce few HD channels TW has been oh so kind to provide us.
We already have Discovery HD, so it's only three new channels. At least in Austin.
We have HD Theater (formerly Discovery HD Theater), not Discovery HD in Austin. We will be getting the HD simulcast of the Discovery Channel on Tuesday.
