Charter unleashes bevy of HD channels in Atlanta, Georgia market
Nearly three months after Comcast spruced up its HD package in Georgia's capital city, along comes Charter attempting to keep pace. Thankfully, it really brought the heat with its latest update, which delivers Animal Planet HD, TLC HD, Discovery HD, Fuse HD, WE (Women's Entertainment) HD, iFC (Independent Film Channel) HD, AMC HD and The Weather Channel HD. Granted, we've seen nothing official from Charter affirming these additions, so for any subscribers in the greater Atlanta region, are you too seeing these newcomers?[Thanks, Jim L.]

I have Charter in Gwinnett County, GA and we now have all of those channels, which brings our total up to 31 HD channels. I'm hoping to see Sci-Fi and Food Network next!
Rob D:
Do you happen to know if any of these channels are unencrypted clear QAM? Or would I need some type of set-top box to receive them?
Thane -- I don't know if they are unencrypted or not. I have a Moxi DVR provided by Charter as my box.
Hopefully, the good HD tidings will spread to other Charter Systems very soon (like Western NC)!
we got em last night here in athens, ga
I have Charter in Henry County and can confirm these channels are running. Believe it or not, I'm kinda psyched about how good TWC looks in HD...all new content. Though some of the other channels are clearly just anamorphic formated output for HD which kind of sucks.
got these channels in suwanee as well. nice addition I was starting to doubt charter.
I am anxious to get TWC in HD as well. I work there - I want to see it!
