Fox goes all-HD for 2008 MLB season
That's right baseball fans, after cutting back the number of HD broadcasts last year, every single game on Fox this season will be in sweet, sweet 720p, including the All-Star Game. The network's MLB broadcasts start April 5 with either Mets/Braves, White Sox/Tigers or Padres/Dodgers coming your way depending on region. Good job Fox, we still haven't forgotten about Fox Widescreen, but today, you get a gold star.

FOX is getting better at the "Widescreen HD" thing... I did notice on New Amsterdam that it said "High Definition Digital TV" instead of "High Resolution Digital TV"... They may have just changed the name for kicks and it still not be in true HD but I wondered if anyone else noticed that? Still looks decent even if it is not.
Dude, it's been like that for years, and yes it is 720p.
You're right, for years they did 480i widescreen...very odd. They marketed it as if it were HD, but the comb filtering artifacts and all that showed through.
I'm very glad to hear that they're actually 720p now.
I'm ready for all MLB on FOX telecasts in HD, but I don't have an HDTV; I think they broadcast it in both normal and Hi-Def. I just hope that FOX won't adopt new graphics in 2008 until postseaon broadcasts; I like the graphics they have been using since their coverage of the 2004 postseason, and FOX, you better retain them again in '08 like you did last year
Now if only Fox could do something about their cruddy coverage.
Fox-- please-- no more of those stupid closeup shots of the pitcher as he's going to his windup or into the stretch-- Bartolo Colon's pores do not excite me. I'd much rather see the whole field so I can see what the base runners and the defense are doing. You know-- like what you see at the ball park.
Does this also mean all there affiliated channels will also get HD?
