AT&T expands U-verse to more of Sacramento, California
While the Northeast seems to be getting all the love from one particular fiber provider, AT&T is looking out for those on the left coast. Announced this week, said carrier is expanding its U-verse services to more of Sacramento, California, which means that some 160,000 living units in the area can now receive U-verse TV. Since introducing the service to the region in August of last year, it has since stretched out to 17 communities, and there are already plans in place to expand even further.

Quite inferring that this craptastic BS has anything to do with Fiber. The vast majority of consumers think fiber-to-the-home when someone says Fiber service. This is just like what the cable companies do... Fiber to the neighborhood box, and shitty copper to your house. It's NOTHING like real fiber to the home service. What is their highest internet access tier, like 6-8mbps, right? Pathetic. Verizon is supposed to have bi-directional 100mbps service soon., and already has 30mbps+ in all of their markets...
My parents have this in Folsom. I have to say, the interface, on demand, and recording capabilities are pluses. But the HD quality is just plain crappy.
Verizon > AT&T in every aspect of the business
Depends on where the deployment is taking place. Some planned locations will use Alcatel 7440 PON systems for AT&T U-verse.
