I have a question regarding the AW1 ~ how does it work for rear surround if you have a receiver that is outputting a 'powered' line for a wired speaker? is this not a good idea?
would one need to get a receiver with line-level outputs?
I'm Audioengine they can give you the exact answer, but I would not recommend sending speaker-level signals to the AW1. The instructions specifically call for "RCA outputs" from receivers. I don't see any spec on the input stage, but I've got a feeling that sending a speaker-level signal will fry it.
“An engineer explained to us that hundreds of ear impressions were gathered in the name of research, and while each one obviously boasted its own unique shape and size, one single characteristic remained uniform across the board: the entrance into the ear canal is not a perfect circle, it's an oval.”
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
