As the lineup
changes continue to emerge in New York, along comes word that the Discovery suite of high-def channels are set to land in Rochester tomorrow. That's right, nary a month after
picking up History Channel HD, HGTV HD and Lifetime Movie Network HD, you folks in the upstate can soon look forward to seeing Discovery Channel HD (1036), TLC HD (1023), Science Channel HD (1024) and Animal Planet HD (1068). No word on whether or not these will be delivered via
SDV, but we're
guessing so. [

TWC is going to start losing customers by the buckets once the impending FIOS franchise is agreed to in NYC unless they start adding HD in NYC real soon. Their excuses have lasted long enough.
Fios is already being rolled out in the City of Newburgh here in Orange County. I live in the Town of Newburgh and we're next after the city, can't wait! BuhBye CrimeWarner, I hardly knew ye.
I couldn't be happier about Fios being rolled out in NYC, As a good portion of renters aren't allowed to install satellite in their units.
Time Warner cable is AWFUL, they could care less about their customers and are among the most inefficient companies I've ever dealt with in any capacity. Not only is their entire repair department bogged down by ridiculous union policies ("I'm sorry sir, the technician thats running the new cable isn't trained to replace the box too", yet they have no problem with me the customer replacing the box myself) but their prices continue to rise despite bandwidth issues, the lack of competitive HD offerings and constantly slowing internet speeds. Currently for us, its TWC or using the retro antenna on the roof, which I do sometimes when during primetime the picture becomes so jittery and pixelated its unwatchable, (something a TV subscriber should never have to do). Thanks for the DTV box NTIA!
