While FSN New York
became MSG Plus over on the east coast, it looks as if the Bay Area flavor of FSN will be keeping the balance in tact here on the left coast. Effective March 31st, FSN Bay Area will be known as Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, and in celebration, a special pre-game ceremony will be aired on said channel to showcase the new outfield signs at McAfee Coliseum on April 1st. The Pregame Live show will commence just 30 minutes prior to the first of 70 Oakland A's games that will be aired on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, and for those not up to speed on schedules, it'll be a home opener against the 2007 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox. Wonder if this will happen with FSN Arizona,I hope so because FSN's broadcasts are terrible.
It depends on the situation. FSN Bay Area was unique because it is partially owned by Comcast, since they started the original sports channel in the Bay Area. We're talking Giantsvision days. I'm not sure if the rest of the FSN's are co-operations.
At one point here in Chicago we had Fox Sports Net Chicago and Comcast SportsNet Chicago. With CSN coming in and taking away the major television rights away from FSN, FSN eventually folded about a year after CSN Chicago launched. It looks as if Comcast wants to become a force in the regional sports network scene. I remember when there was just one CSN in Philadelphia, now there's a couple of them throughout the country.
dear sir, the other night, i was watching giants game on 4-14-8. the giants put in a japanese relief pitcher named YABU. one of your sports announcer(i think it was kukrow) commented , about his pitching selections as a "SNEAK ATTACK". that is just as bad as saying, LYNCH' when black is seen. why did announcer use the above term? yours truly george sakai
I miss FSN Bay Area for one really important reason. They had the MLB on Fox theme, which is really a great piece of music that gets you pumped for the game. The Comcast SportsNet music is sleepy, generic royalty-free garbage.
