The FIOS DVRs are made by Motorola, but I wouldn't fault Motorola for the poor state of their DVRs. It's the Verizon software that makes them suck so hard. The MS developed stuff they had before worked reliably although not pretty. Now it is somewhat pretty, but isn't reliable for sh!t. I returned both of my Lipsticked Pigs I had in exchange for TivoHDs. Now if FIOS doesn't follow through with their HD promises, I'll be forced to go back to DirecTV.
