Viddyou takes online video sharing to 1080p

As the world at large waits for YouTube to support 1080p, Viddyou is getting a leg up by becoming the first online video-sharing destination exclusively for personal content to do just that. Of course, the ability to upload, store and share such high-resolution videos won't come without a price (unfortunately), and users interested in taking advantage of it are going to be forced to pay $34.95 per year. For those "Premium" members, they'll also get unlimited storage / delivery, the ability to download their original video source, embeddable HD widgets and access to all of their clips from their iPhone. I actually have a lot, but I probably wouldn't use this, I'm waiting for youtube to go HD.

1080p? What's the model? I thought they were all 1080i to this point. I have an HDR-HC3 myself.

My camcorder films in 1080p/24, but it's true that it teleccine's (3:2) it down to 1080i. But fortunately I understand the process to easily reconstruct the original progressive frames. My camcorder is the Canon HV20

im waiting for youtube to go SD. Currently they re-encode your videos to below SD resolutions and just buther all quality. There is a trick to get your videos up in 480 tho. 1080p video I cant see myself doing anytime soon. I like to make stuff with my capture card but 1080 is ahead of its time for capturing. it requires raid set-ups and expensive hardware. Im hoping to start 720p capping soon however. Im just waiting for more products to come onto the market

For people who have hd camcorders and like to share, this could be good.
