We're still waiting for Warner to release its
IME-enhanced Batman Begins on Blu-ray, but it will apparently be beaten to the punch by the 1966 flick
Batman: The Movie starring Adam West and Burt Ward. Fox Home Entertainment is going all out, including a 360-degree tour of the Batmobile, HD featurettes, pop-up trivia game and, in a first for Blu-ray, an isolated 5.1 DTS HD Master Audio track for those who want to hear only the score in the highest quality possible. Available July 1 with a $39.98 MSRP, Batman fans can also grab one of a limited edition 5,000 unit run with a 1/18th scale Batmobile for $59.98. The only thing more we could ask for is
BD-Live enhanced chat allowing viewers to tune in at the same Bat-time, same Bat-channel.
aweosme, its bad, but still its one of my fav b movis
"and, in a first for Blu-ray, an isolated 5.1 DTS HD Master Audio track for those who want to hear only the score in the highest quality possible"
What is that supposed to mean?
While WB already released Charlie & The Chocolate factory on HD DVD with an isolated score on HD DVD, they have yet to release it on Blu-ray. Fox just beat them, and everyone else, to the punch on Blu-ray.
It's nice to see there are actually new supplements on this disc as well.
It means we get to listen to that cheezy 60's porn music with "Blam-o" and "Ka-Pow" sound effects.
I don't know if my sound system can handle it...
is it supposed to mean music isolated or something/
We've had DTS-HD MA forever.
Its saying you will be able to listen to just the music (in DTS-HD Master Audio) while the movie plays.
what's the point of that?
It's not totally clear that it's the music-only track.
Actually, it is pretty clear. The word "score" used this way means the music that was composed for a movie.
"6 a: the copy of a musical composition in written or printed notation b: a musical composition; specifically : the music for a movie or theatrical production c: a complete description of a dance composition in choreographic notation"
yeah I know that, but my mind didn't initially read it like that. At first it just sounded like a plain old DTS-HD MA track, but as you see in my first comment, I did get it eventually, just didn't think the wording was quite right.
Adam West rocks! Certainly a better Batman than George Clooney.
Everyone has been better than George Clooney and that includes Val Kilmer
I might be looking forward to this release even more than Batman Begins...
is dolby True HD capable of seperate score? if it is why do studios insist on using the one lossless audio codec out of reach for most BD players.
I don't care how good HD looks, I will not pay $40 for a freaking movie. Let me know when I can get newly released Blu-ray discs for $12.95 at Walmart.
...and let me know when we can start calling this FUD old and lame. This belongs with the comments of "will it blend" and "will it play Doom."
MSRP for a title != what you can get it at with a little shopping around. I'll definitely pass on this at any price, but I've been able to find the titles I want at good prices new through teh intarwebs.
Wow! $39.98 MSRP for a movie that should cost $3... where can I get one!?!?!? Seriously tho the old Adam West Batman stuff is a hoot to watch.... tho I wouldn't spend anywhere near that just to get it on BD.... who cares ?!?! thats just a freakin waste of money.
What a waste. I can name hundreds of other movies they should have slated for release before this crap. Even DVD is too good for this movie.
just bring me batman begins already
