i still say this is endgame for alot of directv subs (i see alot of people getting these tuners assuming you can add them to existing computers and dont have to go through all that crap to get a cablecard tuner)

Ummm, you CAN add the HDPC-20 to an existing PC. It is not a CableCARD tuner that requires a special BIOS.
It hasn't been confirmed either way yet. Don't count those chickens before the eggs hatch.
