They never said change was easy -- nor inexpensive, apparently. Announced today, Starz has decided to undertake its "largest long-term brand investment since 2002," freeing itself of $25 million in order to spark up a new brand and marketing initiative. Users will start seeing an all new logo, fresh on-air look and an "integrated advertising campaign on-air and online." As expected, the new identity -- part of the "Are You Ready?" initiative -- will be ran across the company's six SD and four HD channels, and Starz is slated to run TV spots with the new logo starting on April 7th (while the online portion launches on April 14th). Hope it's
worth it.
they spent $25 on that?
Is it just me or does that look like an old logo for Starz? Looks like it's from the 70's.
I would have done that logo for them for half that price, LOL.
25 million for a butthole? wow... thats impressive lmao Seriously... it looks like a butthole lmao... thats hilarious!!
pucker up....
They should have spent that $25 million on putting HD programming on their four HD channels. Nothing like three HD channels that show nothing but 480i movies!
@Bill Steinbach:
"..nothing but 480i movies"?
Random time scope: 5 Starz HD channels (Kids, Comedy, main channel, west coast, & Edge), now showing ~ Bridge to Terabithia, Mystery Alaska, Grindhouse, Primeval, and Stranger Than Fiction.
Random time scope (tomorrow at 2pm): James & The Giant Peach, Teaching Mrs. Tingle, Wild Hogs, Invincible, and The Frighteners.
..and middle of the night (Wednesday, 1am): Jack, Bon Cop Bad Cop, The Invincile, 2001 Maniacs.
ALL shows were listed in HD. I very rarely find a time where there's less than three of the five HD channels from Starz showing something in HD (and even then it's for a pretty short time). Most of the time, it's 4+ channels in glorious HD. That's pretty damn impressive, really.
At first glance, it's very difficult to see what that logo actually spells out.
Well, no one said lots of money means that you know how to spend it. If anything that new logo is worse then their current one.
"are you ready" for things to suck even more?
The logo has begun to make it's appearance already...on their website, and as their station bug on the Starz flagship channels (East & West).
