101- by 59-foot HD scoreboard coming to the new Yankee Stadium
When the New York Yankees kick off their 2009 MLB season next April in the new Yankee Stadium (hopefully without being rained out Opening Day), they'll do it under a Mitsubishi Diamond Vision high definition video scoreboard. In what it's calling the first HD display in MLB to use its high-density AVL-ODQ8 LED display technology, Mitsubishi is upgrading the Diamond Vision board at the current Yankee Stadium, to a 5,925 square-foot 1080x1920 display measuring 100.79 feet wide and 58.79 feet tall. Sure the Royals might have a few more feet of HD, and the Mets have plenty of HD too, but we think Yankees fans won't have a problem with the team's latest high priced signing.

I really loathe the Yankees, they are one of the teams that stands for everything that is wrong with baseball today.
I just wish there was a more of an even playing field as far as money with all teams across the board. I think it would result in baseball being more exciting when all teams could fairly compete. I know the Yankees are not the only team, but they are the forerunner.
Though I do find it funny that with all the money they have spent, they have been struggling the past few years.
In other news, with the recent winter storm the Twin Cities recieved last night on home opener. I really hope they can get a deal done for a retractable roof stadium for the Twins.
BLAH BLAH BLAH! I hate the Yankees! WAAAAH!! They have more money than my shitty team and can get better players! WAAAAH WAAAAAAH!!!! Mami where are you, I'm hungry and need to suck your teets! WAAAAAAH!!!
Don't blame Steinbrenner or the Yankees, blame the league for not having a salary cap. Till then, quit your whining.
Oh, those poor, poor billionaire owners of the Twins and Royals. How are they ever to compete? Oh, wait, right, they don't care to. Their owners POCKET the revenue sharing dollars they get from teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, and Mets, rather than invest it into their teams like they are supposed to.
Please, teams like the Yankees and Red Sox have access to far more money that smaller market teams.
Like I said, Yankees are one of the teams that stands for everything wrong with baseball today. My whole point is that the league needs to fix it so teams like the Yankees cannot continue on their path on trying to buy championship teams or even buying players so other teams can't have it with a un-even playing field.
Teams like the Twins just prove that even with a smaller payroll, that you can build a great team and that baseball would be more exicting if there was more team management behind it rather than just spending the dollar bills.
Dude, your twinkies owner has more money than the Steinbrenner family. Look it up. And like the others said, the Yanks are in fact leveling the playing field because they've had to shell out a ton of money to teams like yours since the collective bargaining agreement a couple of years ago. So stop you moaning and get on your team's owner for not shelling out the dough to keep Santana. I can't wait for Mauer to be sitting behind the dish for the Yanks in a couple of years!
You Yankee fans need to get your heads out of your ass and take the blinders off.
It is not all about how much money the owner of the team has, it is about how much the team has (team, not owner) to spend which the market accounts for. I will admit that Pohlad is a cheap skate and I wish we could get another owner like Ziggy Wilf (Vikings) to make them in a better direction. But that still doesn't account for the market that the Yankees have behind them, which factors into the money they can throw around.
Do not blaim small market teams for the collective bargaining agreement. It is not the solution, but that is what you get when you give all the stupid owners control, Bug Seilig is a pile of shit. Baseball is dire need of a salary cap or something like it to level the playing field.
Loosing Santana and Hunter sucks, but it is all gravy. The Twins will always find and develop the gems and spend half or less to have competive teams.
I also would not hold your breathe about getting Mauer, he will never be in those stupid Yankee pin strips. He is Minnesota born and raised.
Digg it!!

1080p at 101 feet is about a square-inch pixel. I can make one for them with lite-brites if they want. Cheap!
I have some sneaking suspicion that maybe, just maybe, you like to exaggerate a lot.
Maybe it's me, but if that rendering is correct, they're gonna have some disappointed fans dealing with line-of-sight issues created by that extruded suite's protrusion...
It's sad I will never see the screen in person. The Yankees raised ticket prices up enough to keep me at home enjoying the game on my Kuro. The money I would pay for two decent seats, parking and a few beers would equal the price of a cheap TV..
Yankees SUCK ..
As evidenced by making the playoffs every year since 1995 (and numerous times before that), having the most Baseball Hall of Fame inductees, and having won 26 world championships, 15 AL East division titles and 39 American League pennants. Excellent post good lad.

hahaha.. Lets go Yankees!!!
Umm guys, are you forgetting about the equally large 102 feet long and 57 feet high HD screen in the upcoming Twins ballpark...?
