Of the $13.8 billion worth of returned products in 2007, only 5 percent were because gadgets were actually broken, according to a 2008 study.

so.. its identical to the w3000, but they added a "picture frame mode" with 6 "pre-loaded pictures ranging from pop art to vangough"
Gotta be an april fools joke, but with the existence of digital pictureframes, I'm wondering....
This is the first I have heard of the W line having x.y color. I would take that with a grain of salt.
Also locke6854 this years W adds 120 which in my view is a huge addition.
That's what I was going to ask... Is it 120Mhz?
If it is, yes that is a nice upgrade, though it has 60 and 48 rates on the W3000 and uses the 48 for the 24P cinema mode they say.
Plus there might be small things like HDMI use, input-wise that would also make it nicer.
So projection TV's are as good as dead, plasma TV's, while I love them, seem to be falling out of favor, now I am seeing Sony, Samsung, Sharp, etc. REFUSING to build anything over 52" (exclude the $10-40k 65-70" ones).
Talk about a step backwards.

Yes - On April 1, the answer is...Panasonic's 50-inch 1080p Plasma set, available for just $1,849 thru Amazon. In Jan '08 I bought a KURO 5080 from Invision Dislays.com for $2000 delivered.
We are talking about LCD's. Plenty of good and cheap plasma's at 60", but nothing LCD.
I'm a little unclear here.
Where does this series fit in Sony's LCD range?
Is this the new top of the line series?
Or is the XBR still top of the line and the W4000 a new intermediate series?
Could someone please clarify this?

They offer S, V, W, and XBR LCD models, each a small step up from the latter. V series is good, W is better, XBR is best. The W debuted last year and never offered anything over the V series except for a small jump in contrast and an extra HDMI input. Didn't make sense to me. This year they have the revised Bravia color engine, though...
