It now shouldn't take more than an hour or two of torrenting and you'll be throttled down to 56K modem speeds! No matter what, Cable is a stop-gap until Fiber is rolled out everywhere.<br>Remember, even with DOCSIS 3.0, cable is a shared medium.<br>There is only 160mbps down/120mbps upload per ~32 home neighborhood. If you happen to have some serious leeches on the line, you won't be seeing 50mbps often!<br><br>Fios is cheaper, faster, and NO CAPS! I would KILL to be in a FIOS area. Recently, they finally agreed to stop this practice, instead replacing it with a policy to throttle ANYONE who they think is using too much bandwidth (i.e. using it for more than just surfing the web). But it doesn't matter what or how you download/upload files.
