Bottom line is this, those who bought Xbox 360 as soon as it came out, even today, have not been fucked over on any features. They are using the same things as people who just bought an Xbox 360 with the only difference of HDMI which is completely irrelevant as it is a way to connect your console to a TV. Playstation 3 has been a horrifically planned console from start. Even themselves said they needed about a year or two to really make everything.

Even now, GT5 for example is already clear won't offer anything more then what Forza 2 offered almost a year ago or more (reviews are already showing that). LOL!

What right do you have to insult those people who chose to purchase a PS3? We're not all raging fanboys you know, but after reading your posts nfinity for months now, I find your attitude to be insulting. Just because you do not like a product or company does not mean other people should not be enjoying it, which indeed we are. We have purchased a blu-ray player and next generation game system for a very reasonable price, one that is updated with new functions and improvements all the time. I am extremely happy with my PS3, and millions of others are too. Why don't you grow up and stop this childish behavior and show some respect for fellow electronics fans.

As for the less-than-500 movies issue, so what? It's a new format. I don't remember any statements like that from you when hd-dvd had 400 titles. Yes, you love your x-box, that's great, fantastic, please do enjoy it. Some of us chose something different, and we see the value in our purchase. Its absurd. It might have been true for a while (just as it was for the 360 and every other new console), but it isn't now. If you spun that idiocy on Neogaf you would be banned in a second.

This year alone, the PS3 has GT5P (currently #1 in Europe), Killzone 2, Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Solid 4, GTA IV, Motorstorm 2 and a raft more besides. These are all major titles. The PS3 is going to have an extremely good year and I would not be surprised if it surpasses the 360 for sales this year by a substantial margin.

The 360 might be a great console, but your put downs of the PS3 show how immature you really are. I think you may be the biggest loser yet. You can read through worthless posts by both Nfinity AND temp1, but yet your final conclusion is that Nfinity is nuts. May God have mercy on your ignorant soul.

At temp1, I think it's well documented that Resistance and Motorstorm were really the only two games at launch and nearly through the first year that were any good... with Motorstorm selling more from draught of games than because it was worth anything.

At Nfinity, you're right the XBox360 has less variations than the PS3... but Sony is known for screwing their customers. And you're absolutely right that fanboyism goes 10+ years deep with them.

For me, I have an XBox360 right now, and plan on eventually buying the PS3 once it becomes a reasonable price (I bought the XBox360 Premium for $280 when it first came out). I've yet to have any problems with it, and it's not loud at all. I have a feeling the fanboys just read webpages while in their basements, and regurgitate useless "facts" to make themselves sound smarter. It's really sad.

And for PS3, besides its ugly appearance, it's a very quality-made machine. Even though Microsoft's customer service is better, you can't get around the fact that the XBox360 had severe technical issues that are just finally getting fixed (fortunately I haven't had a problem, knock on wood!). I know I'll be picking up Ratchet&Clank, and Drake. Besides that, though, there's not much else good until Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out... and with how much dialogue/speech will be in that game, I'm hoping they don't butcher it like they started to with their previous games (which were still fun, BTW).

I just don't understand why you people can't be objective about products... products are concrete, and therefore you can be objective with them. You all quote the same information that has nothing to do with reality."

I agree! But you unfortunately fall under that category along with Truth Teller! Same old shit over and over again, no sense of objectivity and a severely skewed sense of reality!

"Not only that the Xbox 360 hasn't CHANGED in ANYTHING, they lowered the price."

Well I might let the inclusion of HDMI slip! By your standards, is that not a big FU to all the people who purchased the previous incarnations? same arguments! improvements suck eh?

"PS3 had 20gb (no wifi), 60gb (wifi and hardware PS2 support), 80gb (limited PS2 support), 60gb (limited PS2 support), 40gb no memory card less USB ports no PS2 support. All of these have difference sets of FEATURES!! "

Well unlike Microsoft, Sony at least tried to give you a system which you didn't need to fork out a shatload to upgrade. You wanted a comparable XBOX system to the PS3 you had to pay MORE. Wifi, HDMI, Hard Drive, HD-DVD....all propriatory Microsoft accessories! With the PS3 you get a nice self contained unit, with the 360 you get a nice looking unit until you upgrade it with ugly accessories sticking out from every orrifice!

"PS3 from the start has been a joke, and you saying that Xbox 360 games were crap is purely your own worthless fanboy, very subjective opinion. Xbox 360 had AWESOME games and still continues to simply blow away everything from PS3."

and that is equally your own worthless and very subjective fanboy opinion! 360 launch games were equally as sparse and equally as unremarkable!

"I'm sure people like you will buy PS3 games (or make their parents to buy them) but it's only denial. There's no better platform for gamers then Xbox 360. Xbox Live, Achievements, Smoother and even better looking games and on and on."

again that is your biased, subjective fanboy opinion!

"I suggest you wake up, be objective and you will realize what is a better platform. Playstation 3 has been a horrifically planned console from start. Even themselves said they needed about a year or two to really make everything. "

I suggest you do the same but I think being objective is way beyond you! The XBOX 360 was a great product that was rushed onto the market with horrific technical defects simply to beat the release of the PS3. What you are left with is a beyond embarrasing product with a defect ratio which is still a major concern years after the console was launched and even with numerous attempts to the core system design to fix it! Who wants a console you have to keep sending in for repair? I luckily have a launch model which hasn't broken down but I'm obviously one of the lucky ones. It's literally a lottery console! 1 in 3 chance to get the RROD.

You may slate the PS3 but its build quality and stability is simply beyond what Microsoft are capable of putting onto the market.

Blake

Comments on Microsoft releases one more Xbox 360 HD DVD player update

Agreed.

Tony Rayo

Comments on Microsoft releases one more Xbox 360 HD DVD player update

I'm new to EngadgetHD. and I take it Nfinity hates sony...

Why with all the hate?

Luigi193

Comments on Microsoft releases one more Xbox 360 HD DVD player update

It's because his beloved format lost the HD war. The only difference is Blu-Rays are actually still produced so I don't have to worry whether that cool movie I just saw will be coming out on HDDVD or blu-ray or which format my fav. old movies will be released on. When x-box gets around to getting a blu-ray player you can borrow my movies, ill even wait in line with you at mid-night to get it. Until then you can come over to my place and watch blu-rays with me. I'm happy to share. We could even play some PS3, especially since we don't have to worry about the red rings of death.

senatus
