Insight asks customers to select most wanted HD channels
Call us looney, but asking actual subscribers which HD channels they'd like to see most seems like an... astonishingly fantastic idea. Lo and behold, Insight has gone and done exactly that by hosting a survey for its customers to submit. Essentially, it asks respondents to select the top eight channels they'd love to see added to the high-def lineup, input what zip code they're in and toss in bonus comments if the mood strikes 'em. Of course, there's nothing there saying that the carrier will be using this data to bolster its high-definition offerings, but really, why else would it bother?

If only cable companies would allow you to select exactly which channels you want to subscribe to instead of packages
Actually, the last few updates we've had of HD channels were based on the popularity of channels requested by previous surveys.
Damn I can only find 4 that are work picking that I don't already have.

I would be very cautious with this. Most companies use surveys like this to determine what channels they can charge you EXTRA for by shifting the more popular ones into a more expensive package.
Just cause you're presently shaking hands with the right hand doesn't mean the left hand isn't coming around to sock you in the jaw...
Actually, the channels we added previously using the survey were put into our HD Standard Tier which is available at no additional charge if one has our Digital Standard or Digital Choice tiers.
I find it ironic they are asking if you want ESPNU in HD and comcast is dropping ESPNU in bloomington, IN. Insight was a really good company on customer service, and the local Comcast customer service is still just as good.
I am glad they are offering this kind a survey. I wish they had done this before Stretcho-TBS.
Oh, I so hope they pay attention to this (and that everybody selects Food Network and Travel Channel). Whether they do or not they have made me feel like they care (ooh, warm an fuzzy).
Too bad Comcast bought Insight a few months ago, or this might actually mean something.
Depends on what market. Insight has firm control over louisiville. They didn't let comcast touch this area.
