Worth getting excited about? No, not for most people.

I believe the most common argument is "all I really want is the movie..." Me, I'm still wondering what will happen to all these online features in 5 - 10 years. Somehow, I doubt the movie studios/producers will still want to be hosting extra online content for 10-15 year old movies that they already sold on disk...so BD-Live (or the equivalent for HD DVD) probably won't be designed to add any lasting value to many movies, instead just relying on something trendy or cute or wow-factory to get a few extra sales.
